LHBA Scholarship Program The Canadian Home Builders' Association - Lethbridge Region Scholarship was designed to recognize the accomplishments of Alberta high school students who are pursuing construction related post secondary education or apprenticeship programs. The funds for this scholarship are provided from fund raising activities and donated funds from the CHBA Lethbridge Region . Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for this award, a student must be a Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant, and a resident of Alberta who has graduated from an Alberta high school. Payment of the award will be conditional upon proof of enrolment in a construction related post secondary institution or apprenticeship program. Selection Procedures A committee made up of members of the CHBA- Lethbridge Region will select recipients. The committee will select recipients based on the following minimum requirements: Completed CHBA Scholarship Application Short essay (written or typed) from the applicant indicating their reasons for pursuing a construction related career. Recommended inclusions: Recommendation letter from teacher/counsellor Application Procedures Submit the required and recommended documents to the LHBA office. Application deadline is July 31 for students who graduate high school this year. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by October 1. Award Awards are paid directly to the recipient upon receipt of proof of enrolment in a construction related post secondary institution or apprenticeship program. Scholarships of not less than $500.00 each will be awarded annually. Why the CHBA Lethbridge Scholarship? The CHBA Lethbridge and its members wish to support and encourage individuals expressing an interest in, and a commitment to a construction related career. Member support has enable the CHBA to raise over $5,000 annually to support the scholarship and educational programs in Southern Alberta.
