2012-13 Board of Directors
On February 6, 2012, the Board of Directors for 2012-2013 were announced. Elected builder representatives were Dell Mathews of Galko Homes Master Builder and Scott Werenka of Greer Home Builders. Elected supplier/trade representatives were Shauna Gruninger of Carefree Kitchens, Anita Hartman of EMCO, and Scott Murakami of KB Heating and Air Conditioning. The Board of Directors also appointed two Directors at Large for the 2012-2013 terms, Gerry Simons and Wes Carroll.
Mathews has been Production Manager at Galko Homes for the past four years. Starting with Galko in 2002 as a field carpenter he quickly moved his way up through the company. His CHBA experience includes both local and provincial committee involvement. He is also a PHBIA Master Home Builder.
Werenka is the Chief Operations Officer at Greer Home Builders. With a varied background he brings a wealth of knowledge to the board with a strong focus on technical issues. Moving up from site assistant to his current role as provided exposure to many of the issues facing the industry.
Gruninger has been with Carefree Kitchens and Lighting for nearly five years. She brings financial and team building strengths to the Board.
Hartman is the Manager of EMCO Corporation and the Ensuite Bath and Kitchen Showroom. She moved to Lethbridge in 2008 and has been actively involved with the local association since that time. She has been actively involved with the Board as a 2011-12 Director at Large.
Murakami has been involved in construction for 30 years, 21 of those with KB Heating and Air Conditioning. He holds a Sheet Metal Worker journeyman ticket. His long running experience will allow him to be a voice on the board for trade and supplier members.
Simons, General Manager of Avonlea, will continue to share his management skills with the board. Carroll, owner operator of Empire Homes, will help represent the small volume builder.
These newly elected directors and appointees join the board members entering the second of their two year terms: Stephen Amonson, Angela Cornforth, Kirby Maronda, and Terry Houtekamer.
